Dear Beth, It was a terrible shock to learn of Don's death only a few weeks ago. Through the years, I've said many times to friends and colleagues that Don was the finest, most talented and straightforward person that I ever worked with. Professionally, he taught me so much, and corrected my limitations and flaws constructively. Beyond the work environment, however, his dedication to you and Tia was constantly displayed. I'm so happy that you were able to enjoy each other for over forty years.
If there were one word to describe Don (of course, that's impossible) I would think of him as stalwart--courageous, competent, thoughtful and caring for friends and family.
You have no idea how much I miss him.

Wanted to extend my condolences. My father Gary is a 1st cousin with Don and has fond memories of him growing up and always managed to stay in touch through the years. I was a child the last time I saw Don at a family reunion though we spoke on the phone when I was briefly in NYC and he invited my husband and I to lunch. I wish our schedule would have allowed it. We knew of his passing immediately but I only now saw this site. May you and Tia find comfort in your memories with him. Many blessings.
