Carmen L. Carpena  69 years of age entered eternal life on Christmas Eve surrounded by her loving family at her residence. Born in Aibonito, Puerto Rico she lived in Jersey City for 51 years. She was a self employed hairdresser at Hair Gallery in the downtown section of Jersey City and most recently as a hairdresser at Salon St.John and as a traveling hairdresser serving those in nursing homes and those not able to leave there homes for beauty services, a career spanning 40 years with her retirement in 2014. She was a devout catholic serving the church as a Eucharistic Minister, A lector, A member of the Spiritual Council, Baptism preparation leader, Pre Cana Councilor, Charismatic Prayer group, Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults ,and youth retreat leader. She is the beloved wife of John Carpena . Loving mother of Marilyn and Michele Carpena, Melanie and her husband Thomas Augello, Mark and his wife Viannee Carpena. Dear daughter of Josefina Rosario and the late Luis Rodriguez. Devoted sister of Laura , Liza and the late Louis Rosario . Cherished grandmother of Charlotte and Bossuet Marino, Marcos and Adelyn Carpena, and Ave Augello. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Friday 12/30/2016 at 9:00/am from the Introcaso-Angelo Funeral Home 143 Brunswick Street Jersey City,NJ . Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10:00/am St.Aedans Church @ McGinley Square Jersey City. Visiting hours at the funeral home on Thursday 12/29/2016 from 4:00/pm to 8:00/pm . Cremation will be private at the Rosehill Crematory. At the families request , please consider a donation to NJ

To the Carpena Family, with love. I am deeply sorry for your loss. Lucy was a beautiful person. Her faith in God and gentle soul will always be an inspiration to me. She will always remain close to my heart. I feel blessed that she came into my life. Dear Lucy, rest in the arms of Jesus.
